Scuba & Sea Turtle Adventure #2

Our second group of Girl Scouts arrived for Scuba & Sea Turtle Adventure on Saturday and ventured to the region of Bocas Del Toro, Panama early Sunday morning to start their two-week adventure! Here they are working on turtle conservation project that teaches them about the endangered leatherback turtle population and are engaging with the locals in community activities. For the second phase they will be at our basecamp on the small island of Solarte, where they will be participating in a service project with the nearby school and learning to scuba dive! Check out photos that were just uploaded from our first group of Girl Scouts that were on the this destination course to get an idea of what your student are up to in Panama!

Service Challenge #2

These Service Challenge Girl Scouts arrived Saturday, and have already begun an exciting two weeks full of adventure and giving back to local communities. On Sunday students participated in a service project located in the the local reserve, planting trees and improving the overall area. Early on Monday, the girls left for the region of Talamanca where they have been organizing a youth leadership camp for the school children there. This weekend, the girls will be heading to their second major project, working to protect the leatherback sea turtle population on the Caribbean Coast of Panama!

Rainforest, River & Reef #1

Bienvenidas to our first group of Rainforest, River & Reef Girl Scouts! The group spent their first full day completing a service project in the local reserve near our rainforest base. The girls then left Monday to venture into the rainforest where they have been camping along the trail and working as a team to reach Piedras Blancas, the location of our local family homestays. Their lead instructor Emma Zamora is from this beautiful remote region and will be inviting them into her home there in just a couple days to teach them all about the local culture and community!
