Student Adventures Update: August 14, 2013

Summertime here at Outward Bound Costa Rica is officially wrapping up! Check in next Tuesday for our last  Summer Adventures update! We’ve had an amazing summer with our Summer Adventures students and Girl Scout destinations program. The have surfed, hiked, rafted, rapelled, explored and served all over Costa Rica and Panama and we’re already anticipating next year!

Rainforest Exploration Challenge

Our Rainforest Exploration Challenge students officially departed the rainforest base on Monday and began the scenic trek to Piedras Blancas where they will meet their host families that they’ll stay with through Sunday. On the hike, the students are learning about everything from native plant and animal species to how to construct a tarp tent. With the host families  they will participate in a variety of traditional activities and discover what it means to live off the land in rural Costa Rica. Since the group is still trekking, no pictures are available yet but check in next week for pictures being posted on our Facebook page!
