Every year Girl Scouts travel to Costa Rica to participate in service adventures. This December, Girl Scout troop 5644 from Virginia joined us in Costa Rica for a customized Group Program. During their eight-day course, the girls made a difference in local communities while participating in culturally-rich service projects working with the indigenous Cabecar population in Turrialba.

Following their service projects, the Girl Scouts headed to our base at Manuel Antonio National Park for howler monkey spotting, snorkeling and body boarding.

The Girl Scouts also explored their sense of adventure with a day of whitewater rafting, a waterfall rappel challenge, zipping through the treetops on a canopy tour and visiting a local artisan market in Costa Rica’s capital city of San José.

While on course, the Girl Scout troop made a video about their course experience and we love it! Check out the video here.
