For the second part of their course, the Scuba & Sea Turtle Adventure #2 Girl Scout participants spent a day at the beach and enjoyed the beauty of Panama.

“What has surprised me the most is how beautiful this country is and how everything is different from back home,” said Caroline A. from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

The highlight of the course for most of the participants was the opportunity to interact with local communities and have an authentic experience in the country of Panama.

“The native communities were really helpful: they helped us to really understand the course,” said Alexandria C. from Livermore, California.

“Everyone is so nice and friendly,” added Lila G. from Greenwood, Colorado.

“I was really surprise by how awesome fresh fruits are because everything we get back home is imported,” said Lucy F. from Concord, Massachusetts.

“I was really surprised to discover that I actually like it here that much because I don’t usually like being outdoorsy, but it was nice to disconnect from social media and be enjoy being outside,” said Mahogany T. from Browns Mills, New Jersey.

The group also headed to a fresh water cave on Isla Bastimentos and had time to get closer and bond together.

“What has surprised me the most is how close I became with the girls on my group and also my instructors,” said Samantha W. from Sutton, Massachusetts.

“I’m surprised by how close I became with the group and how different Outward Bound’s courses can be every time you go on them,” added Brooke S. from Austin, Texas.
