Girl Scout Troop Visit Costa Rica to Hike Through the Rainforest & Visit National Parks – June 27th

The Girl Scout USA Troop 3161 has arrived at our rainforest base in Costa Rica this past Saturday. Their Sunday started with a trip to the community of San Isidro de Dota, where they will work with the community on a service project in this area that only a few privileged travelers see and experience, far from the usual touristic route. IMG-20160625-WA0024 The Girl Scouts will have the chance to stay at Rancho Tinamu Rainforest Lodge, looking over the mountains, and trek through the rainforest to reach one of our homestay families that will teach them to make sugar, tortillas and traditional meals. They will also have the opportunity to practice their Spanish with the different family members. IMG-20160625-WA0020 The group will go on to waterfall rappelling, body board on one of the top 10 tropical beaches in the world and explore the National Manuel Antonio Park, that is known for being home to White Faced Monkeys, Howlers, Sloths, Parrots and more! IMG-20160625-WA0022 The program also includes ziplining through the rainforest canopy, learning about Costa Rican wildlife and numerous traditional meals and group reflections. The Girl Scouts will end their program with a visit to the artisan market of San Jose where they will be able to shop for traditional crafts and Costa Rican treats to take home.
