For 20 years, Outward Bound Costa Rica has collaborated with groups and individuals to create customized, life-changing learning experiences designed to meet specific goals and objectives. We believe the unfamiliar environment—whether it’s trekking through dense rainforest, rappelling an 80-foot waterfall, or immersing in a new language—is the most effective, exciting, and engaging classroom. At Outward Bound Costa Rica, your experience abroad is more than just a trip. It is an expedition that fosters self-discovery, cultural competency, confident leadership, and lifelong learning.

SPANISH LANGUAGE & CULTURE
SPANISH LANGUAGE & CULTURE
Spanish language and culture courses are the core of our organization, revealing a Costa Rica that most will never have the opportunity to experience. Activities range from trekking through remote rainforest with local guides and practicing language skills to making traditional meals alongside homestay families and contributing to sustainable living and conservation efforts.
Leadership development courses facilitate experiences that encourage personal growth and team building for outdoor educators, sports teams, and peer leaders alike. Opportunities range from earning up to seven internationally-recognized outdoor certifications, learning and practicing new interpersonal communication skills, and expanding on personal strengths to develop individual leadership styles.
Service learning courses foster mutually beneficial experiences that foster communication, awareness, and tolerance among different cultures. Past service projects have included painting or small-scale construction of schools and community centers, installing or maintaining drinking water systems, and sea turtle or other conservation projects.
If your friends, family, troop, or team is looking for a completely unique experience, Outward Bound Costa Rica can collaborate with you to create a course that meets your goals and objectives.
