Pacific Surf & Cert Extension Details
Spend 8 days learning to surf or honing your skills as you paddle alongside our experienced, professional instructors and ensure your dedication to staying safe in the water by earning your American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications.
Whether you have just spent two weeks trekking the jungles of Costa Rica on our Rainforest Hike & Homestay course or you’ve been busy discovering the coral reefs of Panama on our Caribean Scuba & Service course, the Pacific Surf & Cert Extension is the perfect way to experience the world-class beaches of Costa Rica and learn one of its most iconic sports.
Our remote surf camps are located on the Pacific coast, famous for its warm waters and consistent surf breaks, as well as lack of crowds. Spend your nights under the stars, and head out early to catch the morning’s first waves and perfect your stance. Learn more than just surfing with holistic instruction including how to read wave conditions, maintain equipment, and surf etiquette. If you’re lucky, you might even get to experience the spectacular coastal wildlife including sea turtles, dolphins, and three different species of monkeys.
Between breaks, you and your course mates will learn important life-saving techniques and the basics of lifeguarding while studying for and eventually earning your American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications. Whether it’s learning how to use your board as a rescue device, or practicing CPR on mannequins, you will learn the best techniques in staying safe on both land and water.
Create a three or five-week summer expedition! This eight-day course is an extension to our Rainforest Hike & Homestay and Caribbean Scuba & Service summer programs.
