The Tri-Country Semester group has been soaking up the Caribbean sun on Solarte Island in the archipelago of Bocas Del Toro, Panama. After this past week, most of the students are NAUI-certified scuba divers! The students now know about dive equipment, the science of diving, responsible diving practices and the Bocas Del Toro underwater environment. After their training and open water dives this week, they are certified for open water diving activities and areas without supervision that approximate the area of Bocas Del Toro.
When the students were not scuba diving, they took to the open seas to go sailing, wake boarding and surfing around the archipelago.
During their time in Panama, the students have had the opportunity to continue to become immersed within the local culture by staying with a local family in the village and volunteering at the local school of Solarte.
