Our Tri-Country students have been having an amazing time during their surf phase. The group started learning the surfing basics at Playa Avellanas, then headed to Manuel Antonio, before wrapping up their surfing expedition in Playa Tulín. We’re pretty sure they’re ready to sign on for a pro-tour with all the practice they’ve had.
As if camping on the beach and catching waves isn’t enough, Playa Tulín is home to sea turtle rescue where the students spent time giving back. Their service project included night patrols to inventory and protect eggs, building “baskets” that help protect the nests, and even releasing newborn turtles safely into the ocean.
Tomorrow the group will be tackling rapids as they begin the river phase. Lucky for us, they stopped by base to share some of their amazing pictures before they continue on their journey. Check out our Facebook page to see pictures of all the awesome things they’ve done so far.
