Tri-Country has been busy in their first week and a half in Costa Rica! Last week, their days were filled with Spanish lessons both in and out of the classroom. Their teacher, Luis, traveled with them on their day adventures to Irazú Volcano, Istaru Climbing Wall and Cachi Climbing Wall to teach them pertinent words and practical grammar lessons. In preparation for their hike, each student is now CPR & First Aid Certified after a 2 day course.
On September 22nd, the group took off for the Caribbean Coast near the city of Limón for their hiking portion. The group will be on foot carrying everything they need for the next 26 days. Today they are traveling from the Yolanda family homestay to the town of Las Brisas on the edge of the Indigenous Reserve located in the province of Cartago. Their next week of travel will be the most remote part of their hike.
Instructor Donna called in this morning with a shout out from all the students to their friends and family. Everyone is in high spirits and very pumped to continue their trek through the jungle.
