Scuba and Sea Turtle Adventure #3

The girls on Scuba and Sea Turtle Adventure transferred out to Bocas Del Toro, Panama early on Sunday morning and are currently staying at a small island off the coast known as Solarte. This week the girls have been enjoying their time exploring the sea and learning about sea turtle conservation. In their down time they have been testing their new skills on wake boarding and knee boarding, as well as preparing themselves for their NAUI Scuba Certification test that they will take at the end of their course. Later this week, the girls will have the opportunity to dive down to a sunken fairy boat and see some exotic fish and coral as well!

Rainforest, River & Reef #2

The Rainforest, River, & Reef #2 girls embarked on their two-week adventure on Monday. Before leaving, the Girl Scouts did a service project in the Rainforest Base’s local reserve, where they planted trees and improved the overall area. Since then they have been trekking through the rainforest and hiking the countryside Piedras Blancas, where they will be staying in local homestays. In Piedras Blancas, the girls will be learning about Costa Rican culture and the art of making “Trapiche” a candy made from sugar cane. Once they leave Piedras Blancas on Sunday, the girls are going to make their way to Manuel Antonio. There they will explore the national park and spend time boogie boarding at the beach before returning back to base.

Catching Waves #2

The girls of Catching Waves left on Sunday to Playa Avellanas, a Province in Guanacaste, where they have been taking on the challenging waves as they spend their time learning how to surf. On Sunday, the girls will be taking on whitewater rafting and testing their skills in the river currents. For their last days, the girls will be heading to San Jose where they will get a tour of the city, and visit the Artisan market to get some authentic souvenirs to bring home!
