About Amelia

Amelia grew up in San Gerardo de Rivas with her brother and two sisters and has lived in Costa Rica her entire life. A previous tour leader, Amelia came to Outward Bound Costa Rica because she was looking for a new adventure where she could enjoy more of the outdoors and do the things she loves. She has previously worked with Girl Scouts and enjoys hiking and kayaking while on course. This summer, expect to see Amelia instructing Service Challenge courses with the Girl Scouts, giving back to the community and embarking on different adventures.

Amelia’s Adventures

Amelia is an avid hiker and is constantly searching for mountains to climb. Her interest stems from her family who has long owned a touring company that takes people to the highest peaks in Costa Rica. Amelia’s father is also a hiking enthusiast which sparked her passion when she was younger. She loves to travel and is interested in visiting Peru, Brazil, and anywhere else she could travel to that would provide her with vast mountains to climb.

While she has future travel plans, Amelia is no stranger to adventure. She recently spent four months in China working for Outward Bound Hong Kong, where she was an instructor for sea kayaking. While her experience there was unforgettable, she is glad to return to OBCR and is excited to begin another exciting summer where she gets to constantly learn new things throughout courses and meet new people.
