About Gaby
Gaby grew up in Sabanilla with her three older brothers and has lived in Costa Rica her entire life. In school, Gaby graduated with a degree in Psychology and has been trained in first aid, leadership, experiential education, teamwork, and working with people with special needs. This summer Gaby is working with the Scuba & Sea Turtle Adventure Girl Scout groups in Bocas Del Toro, Panama and is looking forward to teaching them all about scuba diving and working on local conservation efforts.
Gaby and OBCR
Prior to working with OBCR, Gaby worked for the Association of Guides and Scouts of Costa Rica as a leader in camps that led programs based on teamwork, experiential education, and meaningful adventures. Her extensive time working with scouts and love of the outdoors inevitably led Gaby to start working as an instructor with Outward Bound Costa Rica. Gaby enjoys being part of a process where she can inspire and challenge her students, while watching them grow and transform throughout their course into better people. Gaby has already had a lot of fun getting to know all the Chica Scouts on Scuba & Sea Turtle Adventure this summer, working and challenging them throughout their two-week adventure! On her downtime, Gaby enjoys reading, writing, and doing anything nature-related. Whether she’s hiking in the mountains, checking out the beaches, or spending time on the river, Gaby is always up for a new adventure. In the future she would love to be able to travel as much as possible to explore different places, grow as a person, and make experiences that will last a lifetime.
