Every year, hundreds of students trek through the remote rainforest of Costa Rica and into the homes of our Costa Rican homestays. Since the inception of Outward Bound Costa Rica, the Lopez family has been one of our homestays, welcoming us time and time again into their community and showing us the local traditions of their country few visitors get to see first-hand.
Due to their remote location, Ormidas and Flor Lopez rarely get a chance to communicate with OBCR students once they have completed their hike and homestay experience. We recently caught up with them at their home in Piedras Blancas to ask what they had to say to you, our alumni. They also had a message for our students that will be visiting them this summer.
