Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming eleven students and two chaperones from Colorado College here in Costa Rica to join two of our instructors for a custom-made adventure. Although it was originally meant to be a week-long course, an inclement blizzard in Colorado had other plans and delayed the group’s arrival by three days. Not to be deterred, the group arrived in good spirits and got ready to head off on their (slightly abridged) whirlwind adventure through the pristine Costa Rican rainforest. In just five days, they came together as a group as they hiked through the jungle, experienced rural life in a local homestay, and splashed in the waves off the Pacific Coast in Manuel Antonio National Park. The OBCR instructors were so impressed with the positivity of the group and credit their growth and success to the strong community dynamic—here’s what they had to say:
Fabricio
“Having the chaperons Paul and Ryan with us on course was great, as they were such positive role models for the students. The positive mindset of the group was definitely the key to success!”
Diego
“Even when days were physically challenging, this group was so impressive in working together to keep the energy and motivation up.”
