Our students have made it to Nicaragua!
Before they left Costa Rica, they spent the day at a local school where the children introduced them to the different cultures that are here in Costa Rica with a presentation of their traditional dances. The group tried food from each of the cultures and then participated in a futbol game against the local students. The gringos won!
In Nicaragua, our group worked at a local all-girls orphanage where they baked hundreds of loaves of bread, for a fundraiser for the school. They then repainted the bedrooms of some of the older girls. Over the next days they will be volunteering at nursing homes, working on reforestation projects, cooking for poor communities and repairing rural school buildings.
These small gestures mean so very much to these communities. We are very proud of their work, and proud of the communities they are serving.
