SPANISH LANGUAGE & CULTURE

Students studying Spanish at Hebron Academy in Maine joined us for an engaging, challenging cultural adventure on a Spanish Language & Culture group program. Their 11-day course included hiking through the rainforest, getting up close and personal with the rural Costa Rican culture, enjoying the Pacific beaches of Manuel Antonio National Park, rafting world-class whitewater, and zip-lining through the rainforest canopy, all while practicing their Spanish language skills and experiencing “pura vida.”

Incoming freshmen at University of Washington come together for an adventure in Costa Rica as a part of orientation. During their 11 days in Costa Rica, they learned about leadership and independence as they trekked through the rainforest, came together as a group to raft world-class whitewater, and prepared themselves for the upcoming challenges of becoming a college freshman by stepping outside of their comfort zone to experience new cultures and adventures.

SERVICE ADVENTURE

Students from the University of Alabama’s Action Abroad journeyed to Costa Rica and Panama for 10 days of community service, conservation, adventure, and self-discovery. They worked together to contribute valuable service in an indigenous community in Panama, pushed themselves in a 12 hour sea kayaking expedition amongst the beautiful reefs and mangroves of the Caribbean, and learned about intercultural communication and the value of teamwork.
