Scuba & Sea Turtle Adventure #2
During their first days, the Scuba & Sea Turtle Adventure #2 Girl Scouts stayed at San San Pond Sak Wetland Reserve in Panama where they performed night patrols and built sustainable habitats for the baby turtles.
The girls had the opportunity to plant trees at San San Pond Sak Wetland Reserve and felt very proud of their achievement!
The group helped to cook a delicious Caribbean meal and learned more about the culture of the country.
Today, the group is visiting the city of Bocas del Toro for a day trip, before going back to our Panamian base in Solarte.
Service Challenge #2
Our second group of Service Challenge participants started their course in the Talamanca Region where they did service at a local elementary school. The girls enjoyed helping the community and playing with the kids in the village.
Over the next few days, the group will head to San San Pond Sak Wetland Reserve in Panama. They will help to protect baby turtles and perform night patrols.
Rainforest River & Reef #1
Our Rainforest River and Reef group arrived at our rainforest base and made some empanadas with the Service Challenge #2 participants. They had time to get to know each other and left the next day for their hikes.
The girls hiked through the rainforest with their Outward Bound Costa Rica instructors, getting the opportunity to learn about the rich wildlife and ecosystems present in this part of Central America.
Next week, the group will continue to trek through the forests and will head to the beach in Manuel Antonio National Park where they will test their leadership skills and learn more about the culture of Costa Rica.
