After an all around success on the Hiking Phase, Wilderness First Responder, and Ropes, the Leadership group is completing their fourth phase of course: surf and lifeguard certification at Playa Avellanas.

Students have been engaging in beach based leadership development activities, surfing and building their relationship with the ocean, and consuming extraordinary amounts of fish! Intense early morning beach workouts challenge both the physical and mental condition of these future leaders, as they prepare for their next certification in Lifeguarding.

Students have an opportunity to do a solo on the beach, taking time to reflect on their previous two months of training and development and mentally prepare for what lies ahead…
