-
What made you chose to do an Outward Bound Costa Rica course?
I wanted to be able to do service and see a new place. I had researched and learned about Costa Rica in school, and I wanted to be able to see and experience it in person!
-
What is your favorite memory from your course?
My favorite memory is playing soccer with the kids in Bajo Coen. Getting to play games and interact with the people there in general was absolutely amazing, and it was a great experience to see their lifestyle and be a part of their community.
-
What did you learn on course that is still relevant in your life today?
The biggest thing that I learned was that there is a lot more to the world than what is in my town or even than what is in the United States. I also learned more about nature and the environment.
-
What are you up to in your life right now?
Right now I’m doing a lot of volunteer work in my community and working to get my Girl Scout Gold Award.
-
Did Outward Bound have an impact on your life path? If yes, how so?
It definitely made me more adventurous and want to travel more. It also made me seek out more opportunities to help people in my own community.
-
What brought you to Costa Rica?
I’ve only been for this one course, but I’d definitely go back!
-
Would you recommend Outward Bound Costa Rica to teens? Why or why not?
I would definitely recommend Outward Bound Costa Rica to teens because it’s an amazing experience that really opens your eyes to the world around you. There is no way to describe how incredible it is.

What advice do you have for students who are considering doing a course with Outward Bound?
My advice would be to just go for it! I’d say that it’s definitely worth it, and that there are infinite things that you can learn from the experience. I’d also say to always try new things and be positive and make the most out of every situation because having a good attitude will make you get much more out of the trip.
