On course with Outward Bound Costa Rica, we encourage our students to explore their surroundings, and sometimes there is no better way of doing this than by climbing an impressive Guanacaste or higuerón tree. We were saddened to see that it might in fact be illegal to climb trees in Central Park, New York City. What a bummer for New Yorkers!
Now this is an inspiration! School children in the United Kingdom walked 5 miles to raise money for endangered rainforest animals. The children decided they wanted to contribute to this cause after learning about the rainforest in school. Great job, kids!
This interesting couple, formerly retired, has taken up full-time volunteer roles with a non-profit showcasing trips to Patagonia and Peru to rebuild trails in public parks. The couple first traveled to Torres del Paine in 2008 to perform trail work for the organization and were hooked!
