Summer Students Update: June 29th 2012

It’s officially summer here at Outward Bound Costa Rica! Tune in to our blog on Tuesdays & Fridays for updates on our students’ adventures here in Costa Rica.

Summer Courses (Open Enrollment)

Surf Intensive #1

The surfers on this course are surely shredding waves like no other at this point! They’ve been surfing in Manuel Antonio, which was voted one of the Top 12 National Parks in the world! Later the group will move 45 minutes down to the road to Dominical where they’ll surf during the day and camp out at night. Sounds like the life!

Hike & Homestay Adventure #1

The hikers are making their way through Rancho Tinamu and onto the famed Manuel Antonio beach, where they’ll have some much deserved rest time. Students will test out their surf skills in between doing a Service Project for the local community.

There’s still room in Session 3 for our Surf Intensive and Hike & Homestay Adventure courses! Know someone who’s joining us this season? Receive a 10% Friend & Family discount when you enroll in a 2012 Summer course.

Girl Scout Destination Courses

Underwater Explorers #1

The girls are still in Panama! They return to our base in Tres Rios tomorrow. Their last activities will be a canopy ziplining tour and city tour before they head home.

Catching Waves #1

These ladies are now true surfistas! They’ve finished up their time on Playa Avellanas and are heading back to base. Tomorrow they will zipline and visit a local market. On Sunday we will bid them  ‘adios’!

Rainforest, River & Reef #1

The group arrived on Tuesday and has already been whitewater rafting and ziplining! Today they’re off for the first part of their hiking phase. They will begin their journey at Naranjo Abajo and will be heading to the beautiful remote region of Piedras Blancas.

Service Challenge #1

Our first group of service-focused Girl Scouts has been keeping busy ever since their arrival on Tuesday with orientation and a day of whitewater rafting on the Pejibaye River. Today they head to Talamanca to begin their first major community service project with a sea turtle conservation group.

Build an Adventure

Daniel’s Academy

The Daniel’s Academy students are discovering the joy of scuba diving in Panama. Perhaps they’re seeing some sea turtles and bright-colored fish? We sure hope so!
