Girl Scout Destination Courses
Underwater Explorers #2
The ladies of Underwater Explorers have been keeping busy in Panama! After finishing up their Scuba certification course last week, they’ve been touring the islands of Boca del Toro with a day of sailing on a catamaran, a trip to the local artisan markets, and snorkeling. They’re headed back early tomorrow morning and will finish out their course with a day of whitewater rafting before heading home on Friday.
Rainforest, River & Reef #2
The girls got to base on Sunday and started their course on Monday with a canopy ziplining tour! They were up bright and early this morning to go whitewater rafting on the Pejibaye River. They’ll pack up tonight to get ready for their 7-day hike through the remote region of Piedras Blancas.
Service Challenge #2
The group arrived on Sunday. They spent the day yesterday in Istarú climbing a rock wall at the National School for Scouts in Costa Rica. The girls headed out early this morning to start their first service project at a sea turtle reserve in Gandoca, where they will be helping a local conservation group with projects to save the endangered species.
Build an Adventure
Girl Scouts of Northern California
It’s the final day of Girl Scout #31822’s Build an Adventure course. Yesterday, the girls rafted the Pejibaye River braving the rapids without hesitation! Today, before the girls bid Costa Rica adios, they will go on a city tour of San Jose followed by a canopy and ziplining tour in nearby Cartago. We are sad to seem them go but hope they will bring many happy memories and exciting stories to share with friends back home. Buena suerte, chicas!
