Girl Scout Troop 6977: From DC to Costa Rica & Panama 🐢

Girl Scout Troop 6977 has been busy planting trees, sipping on coconuts, sea kayaking, learning to scuba dive, and assisting with sea turtle conservation.

The Girl Scout Troop has been assisting with projects to protect the endangered leatherback sea turtle population including nightly patrols, cataloging nests, and releasing newly hatched baby turtles.

The girls of Troop 6977 have been immersing themselves in the Caribbean culture, taking remote routes sea kayaking through scenic tropical mangrove islets.

They spent a morning working on service projects, participating in community service by planting trees.

The girls are currently taking their practical and writing exam to complete their NAUI Scuba Diver Certification!

Did you know that they sold postcards to raise funds for their course?!
